Tracking systems extract text and sort it into fields: name, jobs, dates, education, skills. They stumble on tables, text boxes, columns, headers and footers, icons and skill bars. When the parser loses a job title, the recruiter never sees it.
The FitCV template uses one column, a standard font, the headings Summary, Experience, Education and Skills, and dates on the same line as the job. Bullets are real list items. The PDF has selectable text, not an image of text.
Instead of downloading an empty template and retyping, you paste your own resume and get it laid out for you, tailored to a job if you want. The DOCX opens in Word, Google Docs and Pages, so you can keep editing.
Skip photos, graphics and two column designs when you apply online. Keep them for a printed copy you hand over at an interview.
How it works
- Paste or upload your resume.
- Paste a job ad, or any ad as a stand in.
- Run the tailoring.
- Download the DOCX or PDF.
