FitCV measures keyword overlap. It takes the terms that matter in the job ad, such as tools, skills and role words, and checks how many appear in your resume. You see the percentage, the words you have, and the words you lack. The arithmetic is simple and you can verify it by eye.
That is useful because most tracking systems, including Greenhouse, Lever and Workday, let recruiters search and filter by keyword. A resume that never says 'Zendesk' will not come up for a search on Zendesk, however good the person is.
The checker runs in your browser. The text you paste does not leave the page until you ask for a full tailoring, and you can use the score as often as you like.
Layout counts too. Use one column, standard headings, real text and no tables, text boxes or icons. The DOCX and PDF that FitCV exports follow those rules.
How it works
- Paste your resume.
- Paste the job ad.
- Read the found and missing keywords.
- Add the missing ones you truly have.
