FitCV scores each term by how often the ad repeats it and whether it sits in the requirements list, where words count double. A tool named in three bullets matters more than one mentioned in the company blurb. Two word phrases such as 'customer success' or 'knowledge base' are scanned as phrases, so you do not get credit for having 'customer' and 'success' in separate places.
Matching ignores plurals and simple endings, so 'tickets' matches 'ticket' and 'writing' matches 'write'. It does not guess synonyms. If the ad says 'knowledge base' and your resume says 'help center', the scanner shows 'knowledge base' as missing. That is useful information: change your wording only if the two things are the same thing in your work.
Run a scan for each application. The list changes with every ad, and the five or six missing words that are true for you are the quickest edit you can make.
How it works
- Paste the job ad first.
- Paste your resume.
- Sort the missing list into true and not true.
- Edit the true ones into your bullets.
